Chorus Group's accident rate is just one tenth of the national average. This is an exemplary safety record which we are keen to maintain and improve. To this end we are continually reviewing the methods and practices utilised, ensuring projects are executed professionally and safely.
In addition to the company’s existing ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 Bureau Veritas Certification UK Ltd registration certificates, the company has recently and successfully undergone a Bureau Veritas assessment to BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
We are fully committed to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and over 70% of Chorus personnel carry CSCS cards.
Our aim is that all projects should be carried out to avoid or control all foreseeable risks to the Health & Safety of those involved in construction work. We wholeheartedly believe that every accident, and therefore every injury, is preventable, and we embed that philosophy into every Chorus project through a combination of protocols, procedures and ongoing training programmes.
We demand a similar attitude and approach from our subcontractors and suppliers resulting in a very good safety performance, throughout our operations.
