Chorus Group Ltd recognises that the health, safety and welfare of its employees is of paramount importance as is the health, safety and welfare of its supply chain, its clients, visitors and the general public.The company’s health and safety management team is responsible for ensuring the ongoing health, safety and welfare of everyone under its control and setting meaningful health, safety and welfare objectives to enhance health and safety performance. This is supported by a dedicated ‘Safety Leadership Team’ that meet at regular, planned intervals to review all ongoing health, safety and welfare issues and initiatives. Dedicated health and safety teams are utilised at operational level within each of its offices and each of its construction sites as an integral part of each project management team. Chorus Group recognised the importance of effective health and safety controls within the organisation and further enhancing its existing management system to incorporate the requirements of the BS OHSAS 18001 health and safety management systems standard. As a result, the existing quality / environmental management system was expanded to incorporate the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001 after which Chorus Group was successfully registered to BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 by Bureau Veritas Certification UK in June 2008.
