The complete refurbishment of Wellington House, 125 Strand, which forms part of the Queen's personal estate.The existing building was constructed in 1925 and significantly modified in the 1970s. Located on a major junction of the Strand and the Olympic red route has meant that the logistics have had to methodically planned and the many challenges overcome.
The main works will consist of the construction and redevelopment of the 7th floor to create new level and terrace.
We will be demolishing the existing full height core walls. Then installing new stair core including fire exit staircase and installing two new lifts and shafts. We will also be infilling of the structural slab from level's 1-6.
The works will also consist of the CAT A refurbishment of levels 1-6 and the complete installation of mechanical and electrical services including plant. The ground floor and reception are to be refurbished along with a basement upgrade. Externally we will be restoring the existing Portland stone façade including windows. |
